Travis Barrick
Travis is a direct descendant of the LDS pioneers who settled southern Utah and was born at Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson. He grew up on East Bonanza Road in Las Vegas and attended Halle Hewetson Elementary and Roy W. Martin Jr. High. Travis graduated from Rancho High School in the top 3% of his class of nearly 500. His first jobs were at Bob's Big Boy Restaurant on Maryland Parkway and the Silver Slipper on the Strip.

Travis soon married and had two children; during that time lived in San Diego and New Jersey. He worked for 26 years as a carpenter and general contractor. During this time, Travis served for three years as an Assistant Minister at Calvary Chapel of El Cajon in charge of the Child and Youth Programs. Thereafter he ran a homeless outreach for six years on the streets of El Cajon.

At age 45, Travis entered law school at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he graduated in 2002, having taken elective courses in Administrative Law, Construction Law, Local Government Law, Land Use Law and the Federal Courts. During law school, he clerked at the Port of San Francisco, the City Attorney of San Francisco and the Office of the District Attorney for San Mateo County.

Following graduation, Travis has taken and passed the bar exams in California, Nevada and Utah. His first practice was in insurance defense of mass toxic tort litigation and construction defect claims. Since then, he has practiced in mechanics lien claims for unpaid contractors and in personal injury claims for both plaintiffs and defendants. In 2009, he was accredited to practice before the Veterans Administration and admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington, DC.

Prior to entering law school, Travis earned a Bachelor in Legal Studies and a Masters in Public Administration from National University in San Diego. The focus of his Masters Degree was in Organizational Behavior, Managerial Economics and contract negotiations. He also earned a Certificate in Applied Linguistics from San Diego State University.

More than a decade ago, Travis entered the field of parliamentary law and was certified as a Professional Registered Parliamentarian in 1999. His clients have included the National Press Photographers Association, the Nevada Association of Realtors(c), the City and County of San Francisco and numerous non-profits organizations around the country.
